Ye old 26th Birthday...

Ah yes, this past week April turned 26. Birthdays are as good a time as any to get out there and do something...so, that is what we set out to do. On Friday we made an attempt to be spontaneous and just get in the car and drive to a restuarant that we never heard of and eat there. We put our name in at this place called Dakotas. It was a steakhouse - it's prolly delicious. Well, we take a a gander at the menu and realize that there is no logical reason that spontaneity or our appetites should dwindle the amount in ou pocket books, so we left. We walked down and ate at the Corner Bakery Cafe and spent under $20 on sandwiches, salads, and soup. Not too shabby. Then we went home, got in our jammies and ate some cake. This is how excited April was...

The next day we were still in the mood to get out, so being the good Republicans we are, we headed out to the Reagan Presidential Library. It was a great time and very educational. We decided we want to be more like Nancy & Ronald in our lifetime. So, we couldn't help but snap a few pics of how we might take a page out of their book...

April decided that she should dress more like Nancy. The woman had amazing style, grace, modesty, and an extreme devotion to her role as the wife of the President of this country. If only all First Ladies would emulate her. It is a shame that we were just children when they were in the White House. Our memories of them are next to nothing. We only have what we read in books and what was captured on film.

Cameron has begun his quest to be more like Ronnie by learning to pose like him. I guess he is taking the baby step approach here. But more important than posing like Ronnie, Cameron has decided to be a Dodger fan like Ronnie. This by far was his favorite picture to pose for.

And last, but certainly not least, we were reminded that it is a marriage, after a devotion to God, that should be priority in a couple's life. All throughout the Reagan library, it was very evident, andeven documented that Ronald and Nancy put their faith first and their marriage second. It's nice to know that people in the publice eye who undergo much scrutiny can have a strong marriage. We don't see many positive examples of marraige in the media these days. So, we posed for our own cute pictures while at the breathtaking hill overlooking Simi Valley, CA. It was a good birthday.
